code tag not working properly in 1.2?

    In 1.2-release, if I have the following, in the edit box, it renders properly:
    < c o d e >Something
    something
    something
    < / c o d e >
    If I have the following, it does not render properly:
    < c o d e >Something
    something
    something
    < / c o d e >

    In fact, if you use the code tag in a reply to my post above and use some blank lines in it, you will see exactly what I mean. It doesn’t work properly in these forums either.
