code not working

I have a couple of mock staff members in the the plugin but when i go to enter the code [simple-staff-list] in the text/ post text box ater and preview it absolutely nothing happens. I am unsure if its just that i need to update u version of word press are what but its is super frustration.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
