Code formatting? (2 posts)

I've tried everything I think, to get code formatted correctly.
Trying to post something like a quote from bash.org for example is nigh on impossible to format correctly, WP is being clever and converts the special chars <> and such to formatting code, argh!
I have tried with the code inside "cite", "bq", "code" and several other tags but WP still insist on converting them.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I am having the same problem. I want to post some coding, which includes a variety of tags, but WP always reformats it. Now I notice on this site it says to use backticks. Well, I am going to do that here and see what happens. However, on my own WP 2.0 site, the backticks trich does not work.
If anybody ever figures this out, I'd love to know.

    Ok, start the code here

<p>This is just an example of posting to a WordPress blog via email. This particular post contains a link to the WordPress documentation on how to implement this functionality.</p> <p><a href="http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email" target="_blank">http://codex.wordpress.org/Blog_by_Email</a></p>

Well, that seemed to have worked just fine. Now how come it does not work on my WP 2.0?
