Am I correct in that when using WP as a CMS only (no blog), the registration feature(s) is/are turned off?
I realize I can create users as an administrator but when I open the site as John User from anywhere I see nothing on the home page (or any other page for that matter) that involves a user i.d. or registration procedure. Perhaps I've just not found the right switch yet?
I'm using the Snow Summit theme by the way.

No - not unless you turn them off via Settings -> Anyone can register.

That's interesting because the Anyone can register box is unticked. You can see the site at http://iowfug.us
if you want registration you have to tick the box - otherwise it isn't allowed

No longer an issue, I can install a login widget somewhere and get around it. Thanks.
