Cloudflare and Comment Quick Edit revisited…

About two years ago, this was posted about cloudflare and wordpress.
The answer seems to be to disable cloudflare or not use quick edit.
Surely there has to be a better answer.http://wordpress.org/support/topic/sql-ijection-or-something-have-i-been-hacked?replies=7
It seems to me this isn’t so much resolved as ignored. For instance, it only seems to affect the quick-edit. It doesn’t affect normal comment editing. Why is that?
Should this be addressed by the fine folks with wordpress or the fine folks with cloudflare?
Just a thought…
