Hi, I’m developing a pair of websites for a golf club: one regular ‘public’ site freely accessible at the root URL by anyone, and another ‘members-only’ site for members of the club to check up on latest results, news and fixtures. Both sites are to be WordPress driven.
The ‘members-only’ site is to be accessible by ALL club members with a SINGLE username and password from a login page. If any non-member tries to access a part of the members-only site they must of course be redirected to the login page.
Essentially what I am looking for is a wordpress driven site that is completely password protected. Does anyone know if this is actually possible with wordpress, and if it is, do you know of any resources out there to help me?

  • You might have to do some .htaccess file editing, the one that sits in that specific blog’s root directory..? I’m not a pro at this stuff, but hopefully someone that is good with .htaccess will swing by here soon.. 🙂

Also, maybe one of these plugins will help too, well, some where along the line.. ;):)

    Brilliant!

You have no idea how much that plugins link has helped me out! I can’t believe I didn’t think of such a simple solution in the first place. Three cheers (or how about beers?) for spencerp.

    You’re welcome. ;):)

Three cheers would do just fine, as I stopped drinking totally.. ;):) And again, you’re welcome.. 🙂 Can this thread be changed to [Resolved] now, or.. you still in need of some special custom work.. or..? Just was wondering. 🙂
