@bobbyau – It looks like you have an album containing a single gallery which in turn contains a single image (which is not opening in a Lightbox) … you may be able to sort out your issue by just using the gallery instead of the album.
The Lightbox Effect not working is another issue which could be related to a conflict with your theme or another plugin.

I’ve used the album because when I tried the gallery the extended info doesnt appear. FYI, when I use the gallery and click on the image it then becomes bigger which is great – but no extended info for some reason.
In the lightbox effects settings, i had ‘no lightbox’ selected, but have now changed that to the ‘lightbox’ selection.
I added the single gallery image underneath the album image and deactivated all plugins one by one and reloaded the page to see if the extended info would appear, but it didnt.
I’m not sure how to test for theme conflicts but I did a preview on the twenty twelve them and the entended info still doesnt appear.
I’ll continue to fiddle around but hoping more suggestions can come my way.

I’ve been playing around and still cant seem to sort this out.
When I add a gallery, their is no extended info but what it does do correctly is when I click the image, it becomes bigger(and doesnt bring up a new page)
SO when I use the Album, the extended info appears for both images but when I click the images they go to a new webpage.
MMmm… what to do….
@bobbyau – If you are just trying to present a Gallery with its description you will need to work with a custom template to add that information to be displayed.
