• I am new to WordPress. I am using a template and I am not sure if the error is coming from the template or not. Each time I post something I use tags or categories. I just noticed last night that on the side of my page there is a menu with all the categories and if you click on any of them EXCEPT ‘products’ you get a page not found error. I am not quite sure how to fix this and I really want this to work as there is no other way to get to the older posts. I notice the page it brings you to is http://acitygirlscountrydream.com/catagory replacing the word category with one of the tags such as renovation. I never created such a page and it is not creating it apparently. What is going on? I tried to check out the database to see if they were linked anywhere but I could not figure out the structure of the database so I left it alone before I totally screwed something up. Help!

  • Then let’s start by eliminating the possible culprits. Have you tried switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

It is switched and now I get an “opps this is embarrassing” error. LOL

    Try (still on Twenty Eleven):
    – re-saving your permalink structure under Settings > Permalinks

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

One other thing to try, clear your browser cache… especially if you are using a caching plugin.

Okay I activated all the plugins and no problem until I activated the WordPress SEO plugin.
