Click next page to load next set of posts

I’m having a problem with display posts on pages. My blog is setup into two queries: first has one query that loads the first post into different styles depending on selection and second shows the next 10 posts. When you click on the next page, the first query is still there but the second query works perfectly and loads the next ten posts. What I want to do is when you go to the second page, the first query disappears and only the second query is loaded.
