I was hacked into yesterday and GoDaddy told me that I need to clear out my WP-cache file. Does it clean itself out often or do I need to do it manually, like delete the contents of it once in a while. They said that could be a reason for the security breach. They will still not own up to their responsibility.

I am not using any plugin for the cache. A GoDaddy rep told me to clear the wp-cache folder in my hosting account. Does that make sense to you? Is there such a folder/file and what does it do?

It makes no sense if you aren't using a caching plugin. WP itself doesn't create a cache.
