    hi,
i accessed my web directory through my cpanel today. and i found that there are lots of other folders on the public_html directory apart from the regular wp-content, wp-admin, wp-includes
i wanted to confirm if it is safe to delete the other folders. these might be exsisting from my old website which was not on wordpress.
if someone could help me out with this it would be great.
do wp plugins or themes create folders outside the wp folder?

    structure of my public_html directory

Nope, you shouldn't delete ANY of those files or folders.

What is in the folders of '/wp-admin/ and '/wp-content/"? It looks like the 1,2,3 folders have got the content from them moved into them. This may or may not be OK, depending on how your site is set up.

If it's a concern, I'd suggest that you do a complete backup of ALL of the files, then delete the folders that probably shouldn't be there, then check if it works. If it still works, then it's all good. If it doesn't then you can restore the folders that you deleted and know that they were needed.
