For some reason with this new this new version is very very slow. I just installed it (on a computer sitting on the side of me). Using CentOS 5.5 with MySQL version 5.1.50, and Apache version 2.2.3. I have other web apps like moodle and clipbucket installed and they work fine. The front of my wordpress install works fine as well, however when i go to the back end to do anything I am waiting 5 + minutes for the page to load.

This is a private server and will not be talking to the www.
During the install I turned off the SEO feature.

    Any thoughts?

    Can’t reproduce that but…

During the install I turned off the SEO feature.

What SEO feature? You’re saying you have a clean (which implies NO plugins etc) install. So what SEO ‘feature’ are we talking about?

During the install of WP it asks if you want to be found by search engines. I un-selected that since it is being used as an intranet server.

Ah, that’s just a robots.txt setting. Not SEO really, but I see what you mean.

Can you confirm you’re not running any plugins?

Yes, the only plugin that is in the plugins folder is akismet, and by default that is not turned on. Atleast I don’t think it is.

I did wipe out the DB and moved the install to the root of public_html and it seems to be OK now. After re-installing it. Either way I have never had this many problems with WP.
    Thank You for your response.
