Caveat: We do not allow people to recommend (or dis-reccomend) specific hosts, due to the spammy nature of such things.
I asked my friends, but … well, I’ve had mine for a long time. Basically ask people directly. Many of us link to our hosts off our sites (and if someone leads you to a new host, tell the host the person’s URL 😉 It’s always nice.)
As for the domain name, no, you can get a domain name from anywhere, and host it anywhere.
I want a .co.uk name but its currently registered, but the site looks like its closed down. I wonder of the person has no use for it now but is holding onto it ??? Its like a complete waste of THE number one choice for my business !
