    I have a new installation of 2.3 and I created some static pages. As soon as I pick one as the the display for the Front Page, there's no more blog. I did change the header.php and now it looks like what's below. What am I doing wrong? If I uncheck the static page, then "blog" becomes a blog with entries. But not if I check for Home to be the Front Page. Does it have to do with using the word "home"? Please tell me how to correct this dilemma.

    <ul id="nav">

    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/home/">home</a></li>
    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/about/">about</a></li>
    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/services/">services</a></li>
    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/portfolio/">portfolio</a></li>
    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>/contact/">contact</a></li>
    <li><a>href="<?php bloginfo('url'); ?>">Blog</a></li>
    <li class="rss"><a>">RSS</a>

    if you go into the admin under options>reading in the front page options select static front page, just below that is an option to specify which page is the home page (front page), the static page you want and another option which will allow you to set your 'blog' page (posts page), this is in 2.3 not sure about other versions
