• Still having problems understanding the child themes.
I made a child theme for my main theme.
To edit things, at this point the style.css file, what do I do?
Do I copy and paste the main theme style into the child style.css file I made? With that theme header? Without it?
And I take it you cannot edit in the WP edit area?
Use notepad and then ftp the file up?
    Thanx

No. Your child’s stylesheet should only contains your customised CSS. See child theme.

    Yes.

Thanks… I think it is the process I dont understand.
So instead of having the whole CSS file in an editor and tweaking it and uploading it like I did everyday for 6 years. I use Chrome INSPECT for an area, then click the css button, grab the area, paste it into an editor that has the child css loaded, change it to my liking, save and then upload it?

I noticed in INSPECT it lets me edit and then SAVE AS, but that saves to computer.
Is there a freeware editor or something everyone uses for this rather than INSPECT and NOTEPAD and FTP?
    thanx
