I have read here: (http://wordpress.org/support/topic/how-to-create-a-child-theme-for-alexandria-actual-instructions?replies=13) that for a child theme you need to select child theme in theme options and then copy the Child Themes folder to the directory. Except I don't see a Child Themes folder in this current version of Alexandria.

That post is about nine months old and appears to reference an older version of the theme. I suggest creating a child theme using the normal procedure.

Thank you. I tried the normal way again of making a child theme and made sure this time that child theme was selected in theme options and everything was fine.

I created a child theme and everything seems ok, except that now my sidebar and footer widgets are showing up all at the bottom - stacked on one another, instead of where they should. How do I fix this?
