Are there any know limitations to child theme files overriding the same existing parent theme file?
I'm working with a premium theme and want to override lib/admin/options.include.30.Sidebars.php, but creating the same folder structure and file name in my child theme does not work.
Any ideas?

It really depends upon how the parent theme was written and how child-friendly its code is. There's no hard and fast answer, I'm afraid.
