myasiankeyHi, I am just learning how to make a Child Theme for my Elegant Designs theme. I successfully made the Child style.css file, and the changes show up accordingly on my website.
Now, I want to make a minor change to featured.php, which lives in a subfolder "includes". In my child theme folder, I also created an "includes" subfolder and then a featured.php file. Now, the question is do I simply copy and paste the original featured.php code, add my minor change, and save it to the child featured.php? Apparently not, because it does not seem to work.
I've read several forums on this, and I'm guessing that I have to write some code to direct the theme to the child featured.php. The question is: How? I am unfamiliar with writing this type of code, so if someone can show me the baby steps, I would be so grateful!! :D
