Child Theme and using Custom CSS plugin question

    I was wondering if someone could please clarify for me so i have a better understanding.

    I am using TwentyTwelve as my base theme and installed ‘custom css plugin’.

    If i’ve installed this plugin… do i still need to make a child theme?

    If all you need to change is CSS, then no. Often, custom functions and templates are required – those would best be done in a Child Theme.

    That said, why rely on a plugin?
