Child Theme and Recent Posts Tab Not Working (4 posts)

    Hi there,

I recently created a child theme for the Point theme, and everything seems to have worked well, except that my Popular and Recent Posts widget, which has two tabs that you click to change between the two on the sidebar, isn't working anymore. Instead it just displays both the popular and recent posts in a long list, and when you click on the 2 different tabs (that also now no longer highlight with a background colour when you do) it now moves down to the part of the page with the # anchor.

If I revert back to the original Point Theme then they work perfectly again. I'm fiddling about with all this installed Locally so unfortunately can't give you an example of what I mean.

I feel like whatever it is it must be pretty basic and that I'm just being a bit slow, but any help would be massively appreciated!

    Thanks very much,

    - Andy

You really need to link to a Webpage with the issue, it's worth giving this a read if you want to make it easier for people to help: http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Include_as_much_information_as_possible

Sorry, it's just tricky seeing as the site I'm having the problem with isn't actually online. But, here's an example of the widget I'm having the problem with - http://demo.mythemeshop.com/point/

If you scroll down slightly on there then you will see the "Popular Posts" and "Recent Posts" tabs in the sidebar. If you click on one or the other it changes the tab, the background color of it changes too and you get the two different options. However, on my website, since creating the child theme all I get is a long list of all those posts instead of being divided into the two tabs. The tab options are still there, "Popular Posts" and "Recent Posts", but clicking on them doesn't change the tab or the background colour. All it does it move you down the page to where they are located.

Could it be something related to Javascript, if that's what the widget is designed in? Or something totally different?

Again, any help would be hugely appreciated.

Sounds like a JavaScript thing, do you know how to see JavaScript errors?
