[resolved] Child pages won't stay hidden like I want from drop-down menu (6 posts)

I am trying to hide my child pages from the drop down on my navigation bar. I want to have them only accessible via the parent page, through a hyperlink, so that when I hover over the parent page, they do not show up.

Here is how I have my main menu set up, with "-" symbolizing a child page of the aforementioned parent page.

    About Us

    -Our Office
    -Our Team
--Susie Smith, agent (This is what I want hidden)
--Joe Brown, HR (I'd like this hidden as well)
    --etc (I want this hidden)
    --etc (I want this hidden)

I am using the BlackBird theme (the free version, will purchase the whole theme later on), if that's helpful.

I've tried to create a custom menu via the Appearance>Menus feature, but it doesn't hide the child pages I want hidden, even when I don't include them in the menu. What am I doing wrong?

Try disabling plugins to find whether any are causing the JavaScript, that generates the drop-down menu, to fail.

Thank you Andrew. The only plugin I have activated is the Fast Secure Contact Form plugin. Do I need to deactivate it?

You don't need to, but by, "disabling" I meant, "deactivating".

I deactivated it and it didn't affect the menu at all. I still see the child pages when I hover my cursor over the parent page.

I deleted my custom menu, started over and it worked! Nevermind, and thanks for your help.
