Child Pages and Categories! (1 post)

    Hi all,

I have been racking my brains over this for some time and really need some help!

I am building a rather large website and there are certain pages that have child pages. I am using the parent page to provide an easy to navigate way to get to these child pages. I am displaying these links in tabs and need different child pages to appear in each tab and not all of them.

    An example:

One tab is top 5; and one tab is latest:

I want the latest tab to show all the child pages, which I have been able to achieve. But for the top 5 I need to pick only a particular 5 child pages. At the moment I have set this all up in a page template and have been able to get child page's title, link, excerpt and thumbnail. I have been trying to only show particular child pages by using categories but with no success.

I am really sorry if this is really confusing, but it is hard to explain. Basically is it possible to get child pages organised by categories.

P.S Categories are added to pages by a line of code in the functions.php which adds a categories sidebar much like for posts in pages. And I am currently fetching child pages with wpdb.

    Thanks in Advance,

    B6
