Child Page Link, Excerpt and Image in a Parent Page (1 post)

I've searched the forum all day and installed at least two plugins to try to tackle this, but I've still not been able to accomplish it.

What I want to do is have the parent page be a kind of extended index for the child pages. This means I want to be able to include multiple elements from the child page and be able to style the appearance of the entire page. The elements that I want to include are:

    Title (clickable)
    Excerpt (clickable)
    Image (clickable)

In order to style this page, I first created a separate page template.

    I also installed this plugin:
    http://www.alexking.org/software/wordpress/2.0/ak-excerpt.php.zip

because I read on the forums that the_excerpt() could be used but it didn't work on pages.

    I also installed this plugin:
    http://jaredquinn.info/software/wordpress-plugin/sublist/

This plugin's instructions I didn't really understand. Maybe everything I want is in this plugin but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work. What I did get from it was the title and excerpt, none of which were clickable.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
