Child page doesn't show up under Parent page in main menu. Is this normal?

    Hi everyone.

    I’m under an impression that if I add a child page to a main page on the menu, it should show up as a menu option—probably when you hover over or click on the Parent page item.

    It doesn’t seem to work like that. Nor does designating the child page as a child page cause it to be added as a link on the parent page. So I guess I’m just confused all around.

    At this moment, I’ve put both the parent page (Philosophy) and the child page (Reading List) on the menu by clicking the boxes next to them in the following: Appearance > Menus > Pages > checked boxes > Add to Menu > Save menu

    Any insights? Or am I missing the point of how Child and Parent pages work, entirely?

    in the menu dialog .. did you move the Reading List page a bit to the right?

    I figured this out on my own by just monkeying around again in the menus page.

    This is a super easy fix, but I had NO IDEA that you have to drag the box with the page title in it to the right a bit. As if you are indenting. Then it creates what is in that box (the page) as a drop down item when you hover your mouse over the parent page menu item on the main menu.

    OK, easy enough. But really, if this is documented somewhere, I didn’t see it. Sheesh.

    I am trying to add child pages. I have set the parent page but then when I visit the page the child is next to the parent instead of being in the drop down menu. I have no problem with this in my other WP site so It must be something to do with the theme?
