I installed WordPress with a Gabfire theme called Blognews, got it all running, but now every time I create a page under a parent page (I guess a child page or a subpage?) somehow it forces the site to default to THAT page as the home. I've checked the reading settings to make sure it didn't direct it to a static page. I've checked the general settings to make sure the URL was correct. Everything checks out, but I cannot get to the blog home page when I add a page under a parent page. It immediately goes to the child page when my domain root is visited. HELP!!! It did this yesterday and I did a database backup to undo the damage because even deleting the page doesn't work - it still tries to go there but gets a 404 error! Now, it's doing it again.
can you post your index.php (or home.php if your theme has one) into a pastebin?

Did it: http://pastebin.com/PM4UXW6p
I tried the theme out on a different WP installation, another site, on another server and it works fine. Does that mean this is likely a host issue??
If you switch to another theme (on your same host and installation), does the problem still occur? Just curious...

By the way, the server is on BlueHost if that makes a difference to anyone...

Sorry; got it working. It was a plugin causing the errors -- the Redirection plugin, in case anyone was wondering.

Thank you so much Kat! I was having the same issue as you. I thought I totally screwed my blog up. After I deactivated the Redirection plugin, everything went back to normal! :)
