WP Native Dashboard
[resolved] Checking the repository doesn't work in 3.5.2 (7 posts)

Did some debugging, and found that the code in automattic.php first does wp_remote_get on the following $url:

    http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/[lang]/tags/3.5..2/messages

and on the second check, it checks:

    http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/[lang]/tags/http://subversion.apache.org/messages/

    Both return 404, of course.

I wrote a few lines to the developer
Basicly there is no up to date tagging or language fiels here:
    http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/de_DE/tags/
WordPress develops the language specific files another way - I think

I suggest you to use the plugins, but download the language files yourself:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_in_Your_Language
    copy wp-content/languages/ to your installation

    Feel free to contact me!

Seem like WP translators stopped to upload files to http://svn.automattic.com/wordpress-i18n/

Do you know where to ask a question about it?

    عربي
    Bosanski
    Dansk
    Español
    "فارسی"
    Français
    עברית
    Hrvatski
    Italiano
    日本語
    한국어
    Português
    Русский
    gjuha shqipe
    Српски
    Svenska
    中文

I would suggest to ask the polyglot list about.
As far as I know, the file creation should be automatic and should generate it at wp.org backends. But it may have been changed.

So this may lead to an alternative way getting the file(s):
    - my plugin has to validate the availability of wordpress install zip
    - list all possible zip based languages
    - download and extract of lang files contained.

I have to think about this in terms of speed and reliability.

I personally download the localized wp zip
and extract the wp-content/languages folder into the current installation
    like: http://cs.wordpress.org/wordpress-3.5.2-cs_CZ.zip
