Is there a way to get the checkboxes to line up side by side like in colums?

I want 5-6 items listed vertically and after that, the 5-6 more items restart on another column, and so on. I'm thinking 3-4 columns would be enough.

I don't like that the items are listed all the way down. Not good for what Im trying to accomplish,

I modified the checkboxes.html file in /wp-content/plugins/query-multiple-taxonomies/templates. It works in IE 9, Firefox 18.0.2, and the latest version of Chrome.
See http://letstalkaboutwater.com/film-inventory-summary-listing/multiple-tag-query/ for this in action.
