Unfortunately, the plugin is not compatible with Jetpack comments. They do not offer any hooks for my plugin to hook into.
As soon as anything changes in this, I’ll make sure add Jetpack integration to the plugin. 🙂

That’s extremely helpful, and knowing this saves me from trying to continue to hunt down how I should correct my theme code. Also, it’s very helpful for me to know the conflict is with Jetpack comments. I suppose I could consider a different comments plugin to work with the Mailchimp plugin? Do you have any suggestions of good, alternative comment systems that do integrate nicely w/Mailchimp? Thanks!
Well, Disqus doesn’t offer any integration hooks either so that one is off the list as well.
I’d love to offer integration with those plugins but their comments are handled remotely which makes it impossible, for now.
As for now the plugin is only compatible with the default WP Comment system.

My HTML5 enabled WordPress site doesn’t seem to be showing the Mailchimp newsletter signup checkbox. I’ve tried to enable it under MailChimp for WordPress: Checkbox Settings. However, it doesn’t seem to appear.
My site is http://ilumity.com, and I do have Jetpack enabled. Not sure if that’s causing the problem. Is there a way to manually add the code myself somewhere?
