I recently completed a website for one of my clients which worked perfectly fine on my shared server. They provided me with their hosting, (NetCarrier), which only provided FTP access to web space, and a database, with no backend access. For whatever reason they say this all they give???
Obviously things are not going as planned. WordPress is asking for FTP login info, I can't install or update plugins even after entering in the correct FTP info, and the users can't upload images or files.
The only browser that they can log in with is chrome, they get redirected back to the login page after they login successfully in all others.
I suspected that part of the problem is that it was on a Microsoft server, and not a linux server like my shared hosting was. I also believe that their are some rights and sessions issues that need to be corrected but I have no access to anything to see. They claim they migrated the files to a new linux box, but I don't believe them. Is there a way that i can check this and see exactly what kind of server they have me on. I want to confront them about everything with all my facts straight.
