Cheatin' Uh issues when full admin

I am using a theme called openluxio, and trying to create slideset (w/ theme’s promoluxio) for the image slider, but when i click to add the photo all i see is the import image box with the words “cheatin’ uh?”. All i see online is that it’s an error for lack of privileges, but I am the only full admin on the site. I have disabled all my plugins to see if that fixed it, but to no avail.

I’ve checked with the theme creator, and he’s not had this issue with any install he’s encountered, so I tried reinstalling wordpress (3.4.1) which also had no effect.
