Chateau theme not available, even tho Chateau is in wp-conten/themes

Hi. Title says it all. I FTP’ed the unzipped theme to the directory indicated, /wordpress/wp-content/themes. I can see the folder in the directory, along with the theme I am currently using (2011). The wordpress installation worked, there is a good-sized blog there now.

However, when I try to switch to Chateau, the only available theme that appears in the dashboard/appearance/themes page is 2011.

A search for available themes does not find Chateau.

What am I doing wrong? I am sure very foolish, newbie error. Can anyone help? Thanks
