   I would like to change the theme on a wordpress website i have taken over. I am slightly apprehensive - will the theme distort all posts already on the site (hundreds) or should everything/posts 'slot' into place within the new theme/ .

   Is it easy enough to change back to the present theme without causing any problem to the site? I dont want to experiement with the change until i am reasonably sure I won't do any harm, and if need be, I can just revert back to current theme without difficulties

   You should be able to change themes without damaging a site. See Using Themes.

   But you should first read and follow WordPress Backups so you do always have a fallback position.
