Any attempt made to edit the theme with the wordpress themes editor is resulting in this notice at the bottom of the editing box:

You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.

I've read everything in the Codex, all my permissions are set as 644 (which should make them writable?) and still I get this message appearing at the bottom of the screen??

What do I need to alter to make the file writable?

    Kind regards
    Nicole

    actually chmod 666 is writable
don't leave it at that, however
change back to 644 for security
