I have aplus.net (unfortunately). And you cannot install wordpress in the main directory, but it has to be redirected from a subdirectory.
However, when the website is redirected, you can see the wordpress subdirectory. Is there a way to keep this hidden, so when you hit the main site, you just see the http://www.sitename.com address rather then http://www.sitename.com/wordpress/
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the link. I have tried that, but after I made the changes all i get in the main directory is a page that says "Redirecting..". Am I doing something wrong here?
The redirecting message makes no sense. Perhaps this is set up by your hosting provider? You should ask them what's going on and ask them as well what they suggest for setting up WordPress and making it appear at the root name.

Actually, I just fiddled around with it, and it worked. The host service did have a default index.html page in the main directory that was trumping the index.php file.
Thanks for you help!
Glad to have been of help.
