Changing Usernames for Post Authors?

    I know that under the “Users” tab, the WordPress instructions say that you cannot change usernames. Is there any way around this? Can you “un-register” people to change their usernames?

    We want our post authors to have more official names (first and last) for our blog, but we are stuck with informal usernames. Please help!

    Instruct authors to complete the First and Last Name fields and set their display name field appropriately in their profile.
