Right, forgive me if I don't give the right terms. I'm a noob at this and will try to explain my problem as clearly as possible:
I run my WordPress blog on http://jc-martin.com/fighterwriter/
What I would like to do now is to run WordPress on my parent URL: http://www.jc-martin.com
My WordPress is run through a hosting server, so I have access to phpMyAdmin. I tried changing my URL name on there but it didn't work and my old site kept appearing.
Please explain what I need to do very simply...:) thanks!

I tried method 4 on here already (changing directly from database) via phpMyAdmin but I still see my old parent site and it completely messed up my blog too! :(
Not sure how to do methods 1-3? Where are these .php codes?
My idea is to change your domain root. My domain adminpanel offers me this function.
So if your website is on http://jc-martin.com/fighterwriter/
it should be possible to set your domain root to /fighterwriter/
but if you have folder in / , you must move them to /fighterwriter/
