You can make any “static” page the home page by changing the settings. This should help you: http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
Great! Front Home Page looks like it should but I was left with two blogs under my menu:
– One is the original “post” page that came with the theme
– The other is the new page I just created for blog posts (that is now titled “On Fine Art”)
I removed the original “post” page but now when I look under Appearance, Menus, Edit Menus & Pages, I see two Home pages under “View All” but only one Home page under “Most Recent”
Should I worry about this causing confusion in the future or is there anything I can now do to remove the original “home” from appearing under “View All”?
Just remove the one that is not needed from the menu and you should be fine.
I have come back to this problem as a result of another post I gave (See: “Having Different Widgets Appearing on Website Pages and Blog Page”)
Under Appearance, Menus, Edit Menus & Pages, I still see two “Home” pages under “View All” but only one “Home” page under “Most Recent”. Under the Menu Structure the “Home” page says Custom
I went to Pages and renamed the “Home” page I had created to “Home Page”. When I go back to Menus, I now see “Home Page” listed under both the “View All” and “Most Recent” list. But at the top of the “View All” list, there is another home page that now says “Home: Home Page”. When I add “Home Page” to the menu it appears at the bottom of the menu structure as “Page” not “Custom”. But when I add “Home: Home Page” from the View All”, it appears at the top of the Menus Structure, also as “Page” and not “Custom”. Why did the previous “Home” page in the previous paragraph say “Custom” and not “Page”?
Which Home Page should I be using, “Home Page” or “Home: Home Page” at the top of the “View All” list? Or should I stick with the present “Home” page which says “Custom”
