Changing Theme Colors

I’m using Showcase 1.0.17 by MidPhase Hosting.

I’m a complete and total novice with coding and this whole process. However, I want to change the green/orange color scheme (green mantle/orange links).

I changed the “color: #123456” under mantle, sidebar, footer, and recent tweet widget and yet none of the colors changed.
