Okay, I went to the template page after I logged in. When I tried to change the template, the button that probably was supposed to be submit says "(You cannot update that file/template: must make it writable, e.g. CHMOD 666)". Did I install it wrong? How do I do this?
I'm still pretty new to php and completely new to MySQL. I'm also totally lost.

You need to change the file permission in whatever FTP program you're using. Search for CHMOD in the help file of your FTP program and it will explain how to CHMOD a file.

    index.php
    wp-comments.php
    wp-comments-popup.php
    wp-layout.css
    That'll probably do for now...
