Changing the separator on wp_list_pages() (3 posts)

    Hi all,

I would like to know how to change the separator that wp_list_pages() puts in between each page (the default is <li>). I've searched around, and several people have been wanting to do this. wp_list_cats() allows it, but for some reason wp_list_pages doesn't.

The documentation says how to change the beginning and ends of the page listing (i.e., the text that says "Pages"). Does this involve going into the template-functions-post.php? I tried looking in there, but either the source is too complex, or the <li> tag is added somewhere else.

    Thanks in advance

I agree, wp_list_pages() should be adjusted to have similar features as the wp_list_cats().

    More flexibility please!

A discussion of how to 'hack' this (but without changing the core):
