Changing the default length / limits of the slider texts

    Please, I need help or assistance regarding changing the default length of my slider title and text. Due to the number of text content, the texts is overlapping unto the images I have placed on the right-hand side of the slider causing distortion.

    I have copied and pasted the snippet as advised in url below directly into the custom css box but nothing is changing. http://www.themesandco.com/snippet/changing-the-default-length-limits-of-the-slider-texts/

    Not sure what I am doing wrong. Do I need to change something in the snippet?

    This snippet is using php, not CSS.

    Take another look at it and you’ll see it tells you to add to functions.php in a child theme.
