• I’m using the FeedWordPress plugin to syndicate various feeds on my blog.

I tried allowing all newly syndicated posts to propagate their own Categories into the blog, but this quickly mushroomed and became unwieldy. So I tried pruning back the Categories to a good mix, and want to start reassigning blog posts an appropriate Category that fits my Category structure as they come in.

The only actual Author is “admin”, because the syndicated posts are just contributors.

This means that when I Edit posts in order to re-categorize them the Author changes to “admin”!

How can I change the Category of syndicated posts without changing the Author, and without manually creating an Author for every single contributor?

Edit: it won’t tell you much but the site is http://www.brightsonline.net/blogs

Hmm okay. The authors of syndicated Posts are stored in the database but they are stored as Users with the role “Subscriber” by the FeedWordPress plugin. I can manually change this Role but by that but can I change the way it defaults?
