• I purchased my domain name from go-daddy but I want to use wordpress.org to build my website. I was given the wrong dns to transfer the domain name to wordpresss and I had to update it again within go-daddy. Now I can’t access my website to build and I’m still taken to go-daddy instead of wp-admin when I try to access my website. I’m afraid I’ve done something wrong and am sitting here waiting for something to happen while nothing is happening on the go-daddy or the wordpress.org front.

Is there anything more I need to do other than transfer to wordpress.org servers and wait the 48 hours they say it will take?

    website is: Iamjewelrydesign.com

    help?

    thank you.

  • Did you set up any index.html file in your root if so you need to rename or delete the file as wordpress use index.php and you can only have index file

I have not touched any of the root files. I do not know how to do that. I simply got the wordpress servers from your support desk went to godaddy and requested through their site to transfer DNS to the wordpress servers. go daddy says the transfer has been submitted however, I still cannot sign into my website as wp-admin and the godaddy screen still appears each time I go to the site.

I do not know what to do from here. Can you check on your end and see that the domain transfer from godaddy to wordpress has gone through and if so why can’t I sign in as admin to build my website.

    Thank you.

    How should I proceed?

There is no support desk for wordpress.org. Perhaps you meant wordpress.com? If so, you need to contact support at wordpress.com. we cannot help you here.
