    I have a new installation and their are some links under "meta" like "site admin" and "logout". There are also a few other tags like XFN that I would like to remove. How do I go about removing these links and/or managing them.

    @mrtwice99,
    you certainly can "manage" them, though not from the admin panel. Just in the plain old way: open the file in an editor and do whatever you wish. You can also style them through style.css.
