Changing image URLs and Sources - good or bad? (1 post)

    Hello,

First of all, please forgive me if this questions is stupid or naive. We moved our blog from WP.com to WP.org only last week and it's still all very confusing. I tried to google it but couldn't find any satisfactory answer, that's why I came here in hope that more technically-minded people will give me the answer I need.

When we moved our blog there were some problems with importing files and we found that some images in our Media Library have now 2 or 3 copies.

If you open a random post e.g. http://hitchhikershandbook.com/2012/11/23/family-celebrations-in-southeast-asia-wedding/
the first picture you see links to our old blog (http://hitchhikershandbook.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/laos-50.jpg) while the same picture we have in our media library (3 copies) of the new blog has a different URL (e.g. http://hitchhikershandbook.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/laos-501.jpg).

Is it worth changing the image link URL and the source to the ones shown in our new media library? Or would it affect the search engines and it's better not to change them?

Thanks a lot for your replies and please pardon my ignorance :)
