Changing Host and importing old database

Okay so my host changed server and the domain name so my site was supposed to change too right? So I opened the db in notepad and changed all the urls from the old one to the new one with the find and replace and my hos reuploaded it for me. The things is, the edited one, all the comments disappeared and I have no idea why so I resolved to changing all the URLS manually but I have 100 over post so I can’t possibly edit every image url in the post. any idea how to go about doing it? *hope this is in the correct section* thanks 🙂
