I recently just installed WP 3.3.1 and I've been trying to add a new header to my blog when after step2(the crop) I get this error message:

Warning: imagecreatefromstring(): No JPEG support in this PHP build in /homepages/39/d213651276/htdocs/asiamlb/wp-includes/media.php on line 258

Image could not be processed. Please go back and try again.

I did search the forums here and there is only 1 other thread that is unanswered.

    Any help is appreciated! thanks!

Does this happen with all .jpg images or only specific ones?

I have just updated my Theme for Genesis 1.8 and use Lifestyle as the child theme 1.1 . Now the headers on my home page have turned light blue and the text on the header is in white color. The custom image uploads just fine but the custom text color is not accepted and the title is nearly unreadable; and the black.css ssl style page isn't anywhere in the customizable panels. Please help. I wish to have my headers on the Homepage in Black and the Titletext in the Header in darkgreen.

@FredVO: Your question has nothing to do with this topic. Please post your own topic.

    @esmi:

It happens with all jpgs, gifs, pngs etc.

This only happens when i try to change the header image. When I try to change the background it's okay and i can upload a pic.

It sounds like a server issue but, first, have you tried:

    - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

-I activated and tried and then deactivated and tried changing the header & still no luck.

-I changed to Eleven ten and still not working.

-Nothing to reset as there were no pluggins to begin with...

...when i contact my server support, how should i go about this meaning how should I ask them to solve this issue? it's really frustrating but i am thankful for your quick responses and help esmi...

Should I reinstall WP and do the entire process over?

It does sound like a server issue - specifically that something is missing on their server. Send them a copy of the error message you posted here.
