   I just switched over from WordPress.com and my header, which was a photograph, has disappeared. I see there's no option to upload a header on WP.org, and I opened up the header.php file and realized that I am crap at HTML. Is there a straight-forward way to upload my old header or can someone push me toward a good resource?

   It really depends on what theme you're using.

   Without knowing that, the best resource would probably be Designing_Headers in the Docs section.
