[resolved] Changing grey background to white? (9 posts)

    I'm attempting to change the grey background, as seen on the sidebar, to pure white. I've managed to change the sidebar itself, but I can't seem to change it for the section to the right of the sidebar or around the footer.

    I've fiddled with a few aspects of the CSS successfully, but nothing I try is getting rid of the grey. Neither background or background-color in the body section do it; searching the CSS for the hex code for the colour in question gives no results. I'm stumped. Any advice?

    Where did you make your CSS modifications?

    In the stylesheet in the WP Admin interface. Other CSS changes have taken effect, so I know it's working in general, I just can't figure out how to change that element. Or even what that element is.

    Install this CSS Manager plugin to hold your CSS modifications - Modifying the theme's files will likely lead to those modifications being erased when the theme updates.

    Can you link the page you're referring to?

    I'll take a look at the plugin, ta. There's an example at the link below; as you can see, it's just the bit on the right and bottom of the page. I've inspected the element and can't for the life of me seem to change it with anything in there.

    Looks like that's a box shadow style not a background.
    In your Custom CSS Manager part of the dashboard enter this:

    .sidebar {
     -webkit-box-shadow: none;
     box-shadow: none;
    }

    You're a miracle worker, sir. Or at least much better with CSS than I am. Thanks!

    Hmm, well it sorted the sidebar out anyway. The footer is still off colour, and my attempts to use the above to modify .footer and .body instead to try to clear it have come up short. Any guesses?

    Edit: Nevermind, that one was actually just a background colour and I've sorted it. Thanks again!
