    I’m actually using the theme I posted in the first link – Layered Theme.

    I think you’re probably right, I believe it’s hardcoded into the theme…just sucks because I love the theme but hate that layout.

    I’m not sure what you mean by “hardcoded”. Any layout can be adjusted anyway you want. You just have to figure out what element is controlling the layout. In some cases you can change the html that’s mixed in with the php, but often a simple css change will work. In the Layered theme, making the category post box wider will give you a stacked layout:

    .post-box {
        width: 615px;}

    It worked! Thanks webbrewers, didn’t think it would be that easy to alter the theme like that.
