Changing from "mixed column" layout to a "stacked, single column" layout? (5 posts)

    Let me show you what exactly I'm talking about.

    Here's a theme that has a "mixed column" blog post layout:

    See how there's like 2 columns?

    What I want is a single column that is stacked, like this:

    Is there any way to do this? Or is it hard coded into the theme?

    very likely hardcoded into the theme - unless you see theme options in the dashboard.

    what theme are you using?
    link to your site?

    I'm actually using the theme I posted in the first link - Layered Theme.

    I think you're probably right, I believe it's hardcoded into the theme...just sucks because I love the theme but hate that layout.

    I'm not sure what you mean by "hardcoded". Any layout can be adjusted anyway you want. You just have to figure out what element is controlling the layout. In some cases you can change the html that's mixed in with the php, but often a simple css change will work. In the Layered theme, making the category post box wider will give you a stacked layout:

    .post-box {
        width: 615px;}

    It worked! Thanks webbrewers, didn't think it would be that easy to alter the theme like that.
